Sony BRAVIA 7 II 65"
A strong first look at RGB LED from Sony, though cheaper sets match it on brightness and gaming.

Our verdict
Sony's 2026 Bravia 7 II uses a True RGB Mini LED backlight, with separate red, green and blue LEDs rather than blue LEDs and a color filter. The Verge's review, widely cited as the first unreservedly positive review of an RGB TV, reported more saturated color, less stray blue light around bright objects, wider viewing angles and a matte screen that fixes the predecessor's glare problem. The main criticisms are price and connectivity: it launched at $2,599 for 65 inches, above Samsung's and Hisense's RGB rivals, and not every HDMI port is HDMI 2.1.
What's good
- Rich, saturated color from the RGB backlight
- Matte screen reduces glare
- Wider viewing angles than the original Bravia 7
- Dolby Vision support
What's not
- Launch price above RGB rivals from Samsung and Hisense
- Not all HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1
- Native 120Hz, below the 144-165Hz of competitors
- Long-term review data is still limited
