TCL QM6K 55"
The budget TV to beat for picture quality per dollar, as long as the room isn't very bright.

Our verdict
The 2025 QM6K remains on sale alongside TCL's 2026 sets and is RTINGS' best budget TV, a pick Tom's Guide shares. It brings Mini LED local dimming, Dolby Vision IQ and 144Hz VRR to a roughly $500 TV, and reviewers credit it with deep blacks and good blooming control for the price. Brightness is the limit: Tom's Guide measured about 695 nits in HDR and TechRadar about 560, and RTINGS calls it a bit dim in HDR. Reviewers also cite mediocre glare handling, so-so input lag and weak sound.
What's good

What's not
- HDR is only moderately bright (about 560-700 nits measured)
- Glare handling could be better
- Higher input lag than rivals (13.1ms per Tom's Guide)
- Weak built-in sound
