Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen)

Strong noise cancellation and excellent comfort for less than the Ultra, let down by a 24-hour battery that now trails cheaper rivals.

Very good

Best for: Comfort-first commuters

Bose's standard QuietComfort gets a meaningful refresh in its second generation, inheriting Immersive Audio and Cinema mode from the Ultra line and adding wired lossless playback over USB-C. Noise cancellation remains strong and comfort is excellent, helped by a light 230-gram frame and revised pads. Battery life is unchanged at 24 hours, which now looks short against cheaper rivals, and Bluetooth tops out at AAC. The 3.5mm jack is gone, though a USB-C-to-3.5mm cable is in the box.

What's good

  • Strong ANC for less than the Ultra
  • Very comfortable and light at 230g

  • Gains Immersive Audio and Cinema modes

What's not

  • 24-hour battery trails cheaper rivals
  • No aptX or LDAC
  • 3.5mm jack removed
  • Price is close to the QC Ultra on sale
