Samsung Galaxy A17 5G
Long software support at a low price, but the dim screen, slow performance and short battery life are real costs.

Our verdict
The Galaxy A17 5G is Samsung's cheapest US phone, offering a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, a triple rear camera, microSD expansion and six years of updates. Tom's Guide found clear compromises: the screen peaked at only 657 nits, the phone lagged in basic tasks, and it lasted just 7 hours 52 minutes on its battery test despite a 5,000mAh cell. It launched at $199.99, but Samsung's list price is now $269.99, and it was $244.99 at Samsung.com when we checked.
