Our verdict
The seventh Flip keeps the familiar cylinder shape but upgrades the protection to IP68, adds lossless wired playback over USB-C, and gains Auracast for linking multiple speakers. Reviewers find it smoother, weightier and clearer than the Flip 6, with good handling of dynamics for a speaker this size. Battery life is rated at 14 hours, or 16 with Playtime Boost, which cuts the bass. It is mono only, it can't pair with older JBL models, and no USB-C cable comes in the box.
