Sonos Era 100
Still the best-sounding smart speaker near $200, and a good first step into a Sonos multiroom system.

Our verdict
The Era 100 replaced the Sonos One with a redesigned driver layout that plays in stereo from a single box. Reviewers describe a large, open sound with crisp detail and good timing, plus deep, substantial bass for the size. It supports Wi-Fi multiroom, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Alexa or Sonos Voice Control, and Trueplay tunes it to the room. Wired input needs a USB-C adapter that costs extra, and it has no battery. It launched at $249; Sonos now lists it at $219 and retailers often sell it for less.
