Sony HT-S2000
A no-fuss upgrade on TV speakers that is a much better deal when found below its $499.99 list price.

Our verdict
The HT-S2000 is a compact 3.1-channel bar that aims to fix TV sound without extra boxes or setup. Reviewers highlight crisp, clear dialogue from its dedicated centre channel and solid dynamics, and it decodes both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, though height effects are virtualized because there are no up-firing drivers. Bass weight is limited and it suits smaller rooms better than large ones. There is no Wi-Fi streaming or voice control, and the build is plain plastic.
